Hello Steemers ! Let me introduce myself.

Hi Steemers ! It's my first day here at Steem and I am looking forward to a knowledgeable, entertaining and fun filled experience. So, please allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Rudhir Chaliha, I am 34 years old and I am from the north eastern state of Assam in India. By profession I am a businessman and a flower grower.

For most of my life I have lived in Dibrugarh except for a few years during my school years when I lived in the Himalayan town of Darjeeling followed by college in the chaotic city of Calcutta. Below is a picture of Darjeeling. Yes that is the view I woke up to on days when the skies were clear !

My passions include gardening, listening to music which is mostly jazz, blues and classic rock but I believe I have a nice set of ears and they're open to all kinds of interesting sounds. My wife and I spend a lot of time watching films together. Just the other day we watched a film called, 'Get Out' and boy it is brilliant ! I also enjoy reading and travelling, which I hope I am able to do more often.

At home my adorable Golden Retrievers keep me company most of the time. Max is 6 years old. He was born to a friend of ours who breeds Goldies. He had a terrible accident when he was born, his mother accidentally bit his paw off instead of the umbilical cord. When my wife and I went looking for a puppy to bring home we came upon Max and she immediately said that we should adopt him. Frankly speaking, I was quite reluctant to bring a three legged home because I was not sure about it's future or the kind of care and involvement it would take to look after a dog with physical disabilities. However, after much convincing by my wife, I decided to go for it and that was the best decision I have ever made in my life. He lives a like just like any other dog. He is bigger, he is faster, he is louder and he has more power than he ever had. In 2014 we got him mated with my uncle's female Goldie and we got three beautiful puppies. These guys are like my shadow, my constant companion.

The newest love in my family came to us twenty months ago, we call him Joy :)

So, this is how I can describe myself as briefly as possible. I will be hanging out on Steem more often, I will also be sharing a lot of sights & sounds from my life through which you all will be able to see and understand my culture and our way of life .... and most importantly, I hope I get to follow a lot of interesting people too.
