Hey Olympia! so nice to have you here. I signed up around 10 days ago ( and it's still all a bit overwhelming and confusing to me :) :) haha) but I feel I slowly get the hang out of it....
I don't know what type of learner you are... I did a lot by asking others and also reading some articles.. (Maybe search for introduction to steemit)... And also the steemit faq was pretty helpful to me... (for the first time I kinda started to understand what "blockchain" actually is and does :D)
