This is probably a confusing time in your life and we just wanted to let you know that...
We created @SmartMeme with people like you in mind.
Maybe, you feel like your memes were legit, clever and feel they deserve appreciation. Well, so do we! Memes have gotten a bad rap recently and we hope to help to close the rift in the community with things like quality control, manual curation, and abuse reporting/flag incentivization to name a few.
What exactly do I do? Well, I'm glad you asked!
Here's a list of things I intend to do with this account:
Build a comprehensive list of meme source links in an attempt to original authors credit. I would also like to raise funds to donate to these authors if they are available. They created the memes we love today so they deserve something. Let's make it happen!
Design a comment bot to find and source memes. Idea could be to use comment revenue to original meme creator gifts and powering up this account for more effective promotion of responsible quality meme creators that have done their due diligence to source their material. We know there are some memes out their that are difficult to attribute so as long as a reasonable effort had been made and evidenced.
Manually curate and promote quality memes. Due to the relatable nature of memes, they can be very a poignant way to convey ideas in ways that are clever and fun. We think crafting an excellent meme often takes talent and this should be REWARDED!
Review and report stolen memes to the proper authorities such as @steemcleaners, @spaminator and @steemflagrewards.
Discord Server with bots that track curation metrics and reward Pepe rank for performance. More perks TBD
By the way, I love Dmania, DecentMemes and look forward to helping in curation of content submitted through these apps and will try to work with their respective teams to help keep our memes squeaky clean. If you are one that is involved in these apps, thank you for helping to provide a niche for memes on the Steem blockchain.

Currently I am posting on dMania so my smartsteem application was rejected because of that, I don't only post on dmania , I do other articles just that lately I am only posting there. Even tough I work hard on my memes and gifs my application for smartsteem was rejected.
So how will this work? SmartMeme? I am very curios about it, because I like the idea of curation. I fighted very hard to clean some abusers on dMania with success
I reported a dozen of them and they got blacklisted eventually after some strugles.
But I like your idea with curation along with steemcleaners, spamminator and steemflagrewards.
Will this service work for dMania also ? Or do I need to remove dMania tag? Or can I use both dMania tag as first and put a different tag next ?
It will work by establishing a system whereby curators are rewarded using a game like rank system for starters. We need to establish the meme ranks. I'm thinking Pepe will be the top rank and maybe Bad Luck Brian as the bottom of the totem pole.
I will be creating a discord and integrating a Python bot that is able to generate the comments for sourcing memes and tracking the registered contributor. We want a master list of memes and their original authors and eventually we may be able. Lets say you find a quality meme that someone submitted but, unfortunately, it isn't sourced. No biggie. We can hook them up if it is an original variation. We'll have a command that accepts a link, source link and meme display name and the bot will comment while the contributor earns points.
Points will be used to determine your meme rank and future perks to be determined. I am also very interested in fighting posts that do not add value to the blockchain. I would like this project to help Dmania become even better as I believe it is a good application. They seemed to just have gotten thrown under the bus because of a few bad apples. Isn't right in my opinion.
