I'd like to introduce myself! I am so-anon-it-hurts , an anonymous internet user.

You'll notice my profile picture is Professor X, of the X-Men. I chose him because he is an example of what we should all strive to be. No, I don't mean a paraplegic psychic... I mean his character. Though born to a wealthy man, and exhibiting white privileged still, as a mutant, he is antagonized and hated.
Sadly, there are people who want mutantkind to be exterminated, for being different. He has every right to exhibit the same hatred in return (like his counterpart Magneto), but he DOESN'T. Instead, he promotes love, understanding, and cooperation as tools to use in the face of misunderstanding and hatred!
In light of the state of current affairs, especially in supposed "forward" first world nations, I believe Professor X to be a wonderful role model. As a fictional character, he has the added benefit of not having shady, questionably immoral backstories like Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King (though I digress).

My point is that the power of love and understanding is the most necessary tool to use as a human. It will accomplish more good in this world than can be diminished by any vile tyrant or hateful president. With love on your side, your actions (however objectively futile) can still be rewarding and significant.
