RE: Introducing Verodato

I liked quadratic for encouraging popular content.

I guess it explains the meteoric rise of ozchartart.
His content was very popular.
A more robotic version of haejin with even less conviction.

Each subsequent vote was worth more.

It makes more sense than how I thought that it worked, and even then I assume it was computed by rshares.
And yet, even this way, it is much worse than linear rewards.
Quadratic rewards make the rich richer, and this is what you strive for.
And it makes the richest richer than the rest of the rich, and makes the poor poorer.

Smooth is adm, he does not fight spam and abuse, and is a waste of Steem.
He knew about abandi and did less in absolute terms (rshares) about it than I did, less than themarkymark did, and less than clvr/smartsteem did.
Adm delegates to steemcleaners, which is another waste of Steem.
For some time I voted for smooth, but as you can see, I have my witness slate clean now.
I also prefer to not vote for preminers.

Dan could still control steemit.
He cared so much that he willingly gave it away.
He was not ousted of it.
He quit it like he did Bitshares and like he will probably do with EOS in less than 3 years from now.
Quadratic rewards was much worse than better, and I made a thread about it.

Sort:

The preminers werent selected by their ability to manage a blogging site with rewards, for sure.

So they deserve additional rewards for their inability to manage a blogging site with rewards, for sure?
They got more than they deserved already and it will not be fixed, but I will not vote for them to get more.
Smooth is not the worst whale, but there is no single good whale, orca or witness.

Im with you, the solution i called for was the whale experiment.
Nobody votes more than 500mv.
But they hardforked before that was allowed to create much data.
Smooth and abit were downvoting large whale votes.
Now its a money grab by the insiders, and that is why nobody wants to touch the coin.

It was just another simplistic arbitrary limitation, similar to prohibition of self votes, prohibition of votes sales and grumpy compliance.
I expect anarchists to oppose stupidities like these, but you waste your waking hours thinking about rules and regulations that will only add complexity to an already overly complex system, which due to its complexity already favors educated abusers.
Similar to self votes prohibition, this 500mv stupidity can be bypassed by splits of Steem into different accounts and/or mutual agreements if accounts multitude was successfully prohibited.

But they hardforked before that was allowed to create much data.

?

Smooth and abit were downvoting large whale votes.

So smooth and abit may be the moral elite of the local kakistocracy, but they are still more of a waste of Steem than not, and I experienced their intentional lack of action in the face of abuse, preminers' abuse, and non preminer abuse.
There are witnesses whom did not premine.
Why not vote for them?

Now its a money grab by the insiders, and that is why nobody wants to touch the coin.

By writing this you admitted that smooth quit the game of abuse spoil.

Similar to self votes prohibition, this 500mv stupidity can be bypassed by splits of Steem into different accounts and/or mutual agreements if accounts multitude was successfully prohibited.

Nonlinear rewards penalized splitting stake among accounts.

It does appear that the towel has been thrown in as regards abuse.

Why not vote for them?

Nobody cares about our puny votes.

Nonlinear rewards penalized splitting stake among accounts.

It was laid to rest a year ago, so it is irrelevant.
On ultra linear rewards I bless: "good riddance"

It does appear that the towel has been thrown in as regards abuse.

By you and smooth, not by me and whomever sponsors clvr's clearance campaign.
