First things first, don't jump overboard. This community is gaining strength everyday, so stick around.
Secondly, you will gain from the community by participation. Don't expect people to flock to you, go out and find people and interact with them.
Third thing, let your work (contributions to the community) speak for itself, personally I get turned off by people asking for upvotes, follow me, resteem etc. , you don't need to beg. There are plenty of people who feel the same way, but they may not tell you that. Being new here , I'll give you a pass on that one.
Last but not least, be yourself and enjoy your time here. There is something for everyone on this site. My advice is not "the gosple" so you can do with it as you like. I am just sharing what I have learned and observed in the time I have been here.
