Understanding Steemit
Good morning fellow Steemians,
I have been on Steemit for a few weeks and I am somewhat confused and was hoping to get some clarification. For example :
- I saw a post that had earned $7.61 but it only had 2 upvotes, 2 views and no comments. How is this possible?
- Another post had several views, 2 upvotes but $0.00.
Sorry if these are silly questions and thank you in advance to anyone who helps :)

Regarding your questions, the vote value on a post is determined by the vote value of the people who vote on it. Therefore, if one person has a vote value of $10 and votes on your post then you will have $10 on that post along with one vote. However, if 100 people who have vote values of $0.01 each all vote on your post then you will only have $1 on that post along with 100 votes.

I'm here for a few months and nothing makes sense to me either.
The coin minded people seem to thrive here.
your (25) value somehow affects things. the more valued posts you write the more your personal value will rise so you need time and patience,
And lost of followers who stay in touch with you.
This is actually the part i dislike however it seems to be key to the entire sysem. Still making up my mind what to think of it.
There are many people who have high influence rating as well as high steem power. If they upvote then you will get high rewards .
You can check steem power by clicking the user profile and checking his/her wallet details.

Not all votes are equal. If you are a whale, then your vote will be bigger, probably. That is capitalism. Work hard, get bigger.
