My birthday with you. And history of birthday
My dear steemians. Thirty years ago, I was born on this world. The years have passed so fast and slowly slowly getting older. Today is my 30th birthday birthday and I try to celebrate it very differently from the other anniversaries. It is my first anniversary on this platform and I feel proud to be part of this team I wish this anniversary never to forget, and I wish this holy day for me to be as wonderful as you are as a community.
And now I will tell you the birthday story for those who do not know this story.
Celebrating birthdays has become commonplace today. But have you ever thought about where it all started? What is behind this tradition? Well, it seems to hide little-known historical facts
Biblical roots
It is not known exactly what is the origin of the celebration of the birthday and the cake that is being done on this occasion. It is said, however, that from Ancient Egypt comes the first mention (a Bible, in Genesis, 40:20) of the celebration of a pharaoh's birthday, around 3,000 BC, before Huffington Post.
Candles on the cake
Those who added the candles are the Greeks, offering cakes in the shape of the Artemis Moon as a token of appreciation for this goddess. To make the glow of the moon and its beauty, the Greeks were lighting the candles they put on these cakes, all to get a glowing effect. Most likely, the Greeks took the idea of celebrating the birthday of the Egyptians.
A pagan ritual at the beginning
At first, Christians considered the birthday a pagan ritual. In the first hundred years of existence, the Christian Church considered a man's birthday a bad thing. About the 4th century, Christians changed their attitude and began to celebrate Jesus' birthday celebration Christmas. The Church also accepted it to attract those who were celebrating Roman Saturnalias.
The traditional song
Last but not least, in 1893, Patty Hill and Mildred J. Hill wrote a song called Good Morning To All. He had to be sung by students before the hours began.
Robert Coleman worked him in 1924, adding a few lyrics. Thus, the song became the famous "Happy Birthday To You".
