My Background

I was born in 18/07/1976 to a family of Prince Adetona in Nigeria. We are seven in the family 5 boys and 2 girls of which I am the last born of the family. We lost our firstborn on September 27, 2016. It was a painful experience but we got over it as most people will do.

Hobbies

I love listening to music and going out with my family. Meeting new faces and making friends did not come last. I also love movies so don't hesitate to tell me one

My school life

I attended United Missionary College in Ibadan for my primary school and proceed to St Anne's school molete for my secondary school and finished in 1995. I gain admission to Kwara state polytechnic in 1996 for my National Diploma in business administration and I had my Higher National Diploma in Marketing in 2000-2002 at The Polytechnic Ibadan. I went for my National youth service in 2003 at Zanfara State.

I got married into the family of Olawoyin. We were blessed with wonderful two boys. My first born was born in 13/08/04 and my second born was born on 12/11/06. We thank God for his marvelous deed upon my family

Work Related

I was once a banker and I had worked in UTB(Universal Trust Bank Nigerian) before the merger. It's now called Union bank. I left the banking industry for me to be able to take care of my family in early 2006. I joined Pacific stock broker for one year and also Core Trust as a marketing manager in 2008.

In my official car

I was so happy with my job. The salary was attractive and I was given an official car, Toyota Corolla 2008 model. Life was so good. My hubby relocated to South Africa in 2009 and I was forced to join him in 2010. So I had to resign from my good paid job. My father-in-law paid for my ticket to come to South Africa in April 16th same year.

When i came to South Africa

That's how I found myself as a street hairdresser. What an irony of life. I was told there's no job in South Africa and you can only survive if u are creative. Since I have a passion for hair and beauty and I was naturally talented with hair making, I decided to start as a hair stylist.

I was blessed through my handwork and my two kids joined us on Dec 26 same year. That's how my family is completed again and we are now based here in South Africa. My father-in-law passes away in 2nd of Aug 2013, it was so painful because I couldn't repay him the favor he has done for me, what a great loose, but we don't have control over death.
We love you Alhaja Olawoyin Rasaq but God loves u most. Rest in Perfect Peace till we meet and Part no more.

And right inside me, there was a burning fire for barbing and I started cutting for my kids. My husband used to make a mockery of me. He was not encouraging at all, he used to tell me to stop using his kids' head to practice. He will give me money to take the kids to the barbing store but I always insist on doing it by myself. We fought about it so many times but I never give up.

Me and my Guest

A friend of my just told me about Sorbetman that they are hiring barbers into their store but I needed to go for their training first. I went for the 4-month course at Sorbet academy in Rovonia, and today, I am proud to call myself a professional barber. If I am saying a story of my barbing carea and I did not mention my kids Tommy and Tolu, my story will never complete.

I am now working at Sorbet Man as professional men grooming. I so much love what am doing.
What a story, from marketing manager to a professional barber, it does not sound good, but the truth is we should all discover ourselves. What do you have a passion for? What talent are you gifted with? Grab it now. If I had discovered myself since I would not have wasted my time in some other things but to God be the Glory. No knowledge is wasted.
