Review: Joker

Personal, our review was written by brother Euller Felix, host of the podcast Necronomiconversa, weekly horror program, collaborator on the Cinetop website and in Lugar None where he writes mainly about works of terror. Have fun.

Classic villain of Batman comics the character of the Joker has always caught people's attention, after all who is this man dressed as a clown who gives so much work to one of the most important Super Heroes in the DC universe? Well, if you want to know more about this character, nothing better than his new film, right?

The film portrays the life of Arthur Fleck (Joaquim Phoenix), a man who lives on the fringes of society and works as a clown for a clown company. Arthur sees his life losing meaning and all directions when he loses his job at the company where he worked and his mother becomes ill. All of this triggering a series of events that would drive anyone crazy.

In addition, the Joker film arrives in Brazil with great expectations along with him with great prominence in festivals and winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, one of the great Oscar thermometers. Phoenix's performance alone is worth the ticket. He's really on the edge of madness (which makes me think that this character really moves people). The scenes in the film only work the way they are due to his performance. The dynamics and the way in which the story was conducted and told is also worth commenting on. The chosen form of narrative works very well with the tone of the film. Another positive point that you will notice in the film is that just like in the comics, the city of Gotham is practically a character in the film. And it has a lot of importance in the construction of the figure of the villain.
