The Steem market on BitShares

As I stated on my article Steemit plus BitShares, the success of Steemit will benefit BitShares as well. Also BitShares is the most logical place to cash your Steem.

Let's take a look at the current price of Steem in terms of BTS:

It is trading on the 600-700 BTS per STEEM range. The transaction cost is of 0.14576 BTS, it is a fair small fee, but it could be lowered using an alternative market like the one in Ripple that costs only 0.00015 XRP per transaction (about 0.0001275 BTS at the current BTS/XRP rate). It's peanuts but for a trader means lot of money saving and cutting operational costs.

Right now however there is no available STEEM/BTS market on Ripple, just a BTS/XRP market. If Steemit is here to stay for the long run, eventually more markets for Steem will emerge thus benefiting the whole ecosystem.
