The new iPhone 8 is faster than the Macbook Pro!

With the new iPhone 8 now out in the wild everyone's been running it through it's paces and testing out the limits of what it can do.

One of the tests that I found really interesting was the performance test done by Tom's Guide using Geekbench 4. You can check out the results here, but basically it shows the iPhone 8 smoking other smartphones and even pulling ahead of laptops.

This is a pretty incredible moment and a real milestone for mobile devices.

Of course, in real life a laptop is still going to outperform a phone in usability and sustained performance, but it's seriously impressive what Apple has managed to do with it's latest phone lineup.

There's no question that mobile devices have become a huge part of our daily lives and with the performance now being reached it's only going to continue to get better. With new technologies like augmented reality starting to come to market we'll continue to see mobile devices help push adoption and development of some really cool tech and experiences.

I'm going to be upgrading to the new iPhone X and can't wait to get my hands on it, but of course what I really want to do with all that mobile power is check Steemit on the go with an official mobile app. Who knows if I'm lucky maybe they'll be out around the same time!
