Different war object for US and Israel

in #iran3 days ago

Netanyahu in his televised address on the 26th stated that Israel would intensify its operations on Lebanon.
Ben-Gvir too had recently stated that Lebanon’s electricity should be cut off. To round off the triumvirate, Bezalel Smotrich declared that for every explosive drone launched from Lebanon, ten buildings in Beirut should fall.

All of this is happening while US and Iran are induling in retaliatory strike which threaten a ceasefire that is hanging by a thread .
American planes and drones attacked Iranian speedboats in the Strait of Hormuz. The US also carried out new “defensive” strikes near Iran’s Bandar Abbas port.
The fighting was intense and, according to reports, Iran lost two speedboats and their crews, but managed to shoot down an American MQ-4 drone.

Iran’s I.R.G.C said it struck a U.S. air base at 4:50 a.m. in retaliation for an early morning American strike on an area near Bandar Abbas airport using aerial projectiles.

This truce, daily reinforced by narratives of peace agreements, does not have Israel’s support for obvious reasons.

Trump has an election to contend with and facing it in the middle of another Middle East war would be terrible for the Republicans. For Netanyahu and the Israelis, the truce felt like a defeat. This is because Iran keeps its political power foundations intact; thus, its missile launch capabilities and its nuclear program remain active.

For Netanyahu, the current ceasefire scneario is a political disaster given that he has a judicial conviction hanging over his head. His plan was to triumph, be acclaimed as a hero, and thereby be pardoned for his crimes; but none of that has happened. Infact he is being blamed for dragigng Israel into a never ending conflict.

Trump has resisted market pressure and is playing a manipulative game, filled with lies in which Iran has been easily involved. Netanyahu doesnt approve of this game and has publicly stated several times that he would like to continue the war, fearing any kind of agreement between US and Iran.
