Hadith: Do not hate one another
“Do not hate each other, do not envy each other, do not turn away from each other, but rather be servants of Allah as brothers. It is not lawful for a Muslim to boycott his brother for more than three days.”
―Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Bukhari 6065
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ have eliminated hatred, jealousy and rivalry by inducing brotherhood, sincere love and friendship. The Islamic society is ideally built upon the foundation of brotherhood. The Muslims are like a single man. If the eye is afflicted, then the whole body is afflicted. If the head is afflicted, then the whole body is afflicted.
The Hadith was read by the Prime Minister of New Zealand:
مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي تَوَادِّهِمْ وَتَرَاحُمِهِمْ وَتَعَاطُفِهِمْ مَثَلُ الْجَسَدِ إِذَا اشْتَكَى مِنْهُ عُضْوٌ تَدَاعَى لَهُ سَائِرُ الْجَسَدِ بِالسَّهَرِ وَالْحُمَّى
“The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.”
―Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) Muslim 2586
It is out of Allah’s mercy that you (Muhammad) have been lenient with them. Had you been cruel or hard-hearted, they would have certainly abandoned you. So pardon them, ask Allah’s forgiveness for them, and consult with them in matters. Once you make a decision, put your trust in Allah. Surely Allah loves those who trust in Him.
