Israel's sea based gas finds are already in production and dwarf anything on the Golan. It is irrelevant. Israel's interest in the Golan Heights is because its strategic high ground. Before 1967 Syrian artillery regularly shelled Israeli farmers from the Golan.
Ah I didn't know they switched gears to drill for water. Thanks for that info.
