The exercise is quite simple because we already know the total revenue and total cost from the data. Let's summarize the data below:
RT = total revenue = €100,000
CT = total cost = €80,000
Let's look at our profit formula again, which is:
At this point, we apply the substitution of terms in the formula, and we have:

The Importance of the Corporate Profit Formula

Possiamo dire che il profitto aziendale è la ricchezza che rimane all'impresa dopo aver sottratto tutti i costi ai ricavi ottenuti dalle vendite.
La formula è la seguente:

Esempio
Pensiamo di essere i manager di un'azienda che vende prodotti.
Per quanto riguarda la vendita di questi prodotti l'azienda nel 2025, a venduto prodotti per 100.000 €, ma ha sostenuto 80.000 € di costi.
Quanto sarà il profitto dell'azienda?
L'esercizio è piuttosto semplice perché sappiamo dai dati già qual è il ricavo totale ed il costo totale. Riassumiamo i dati qui di seguito:
RT = ricavo totale = 100.000 €
CT = costo totale = 80.000 €
Riprendiamo in mano la nostra formula del profitto che è:
A questo punto applichiamo la sostituzione dei termini della formula ed avremo che:
100.000 € − 80.000 € = 20.000 €
L'importanza della formula del profitto aziendale
Il profitto aziendale è un valore molto importante perchè indica se l'attività economica sta creando valore.
Praticamente ci dice che se:
Profitto > 0 → l'azienda guadagna.
Profitto = 0 → l'azienda è in pareggio (break-even).
Profitto < 0 → l'azienda è in perdita.
Conclusioni
Il profitto aziendale è la differenza positiva tra quanto un'impresa incassa dalle vendite e quanto spende per produrre e vendere i propri beni o servizi.
