Gratitude - Thanksgiving Challenge Day 2
I am happy to give thanks again today for today's miracles.
- I am thankful today for the wonderful noodles I ate this afternoon. It was so delicious that I wanted my young nephew to taste it too. So I remained some for him, he ate it for some while but mistakenly smashed the plate on the ground as he tried to lift it up, it broke and the rest went to waste. Yet, I think it's better to be thankful than complain as @doris-adioha will say.
- I am thankful too for the little change I had left to be able to buy and share snack with a friend who left home hungry. I still remember the satisfaction I felt.
- The sun this days is bloody hot. The sun fit tear head. I was contemplating while at work how I was going to meet with my elder brother who asked me to come do something in his phone. However, at the time we dismissed at work the weather had calmed down and even drizzled when I was getting close to him. As a result I wasn't beaten by any hot sun.
That's it guys, in my next entry I will be bringing you guys other beautiful miracle.
Rules of the Thanksgiving challenge
The rules of the Thanksgiving challenge are very simple. All you have gotta do is make a post, everyday, for 7 days, about 3 things you are thankful for. Also while at it, you have to nominate some of your friends to join in the fun.
So, I nominate @mrfix
See you soon
well done,
how are going to get on if I include Maori words?
What's Maori words? Is Maori not the one who saw God?
the Maori are a fierce, war-loving race from Polynesia, [the islands in the Pacific Ocean] who came to NZ by canoe about 1400's, some say there was a peaceful race called the Mori Ori already here, is so they were quickly beaten, the well-fed ones were invited to tea, the rest were fattened up for future meals.
They were a stone age people that, once the white men arrived, quickly learned that guns were better than wooden spears at beating an enemy.
The British carried out an experiment, let's sign a treaty instead of killing all of them like they had done elsewhere.
Now the Government is still paying for what they claim to have had in 1800's that the white man took from them.
There is no limit to the littlest bit of breeding that makes someone a Maori, so you can imagine the problems we have.
The last full-blooded Maori died about 1974, but it is worthwhile to be able to call your self Maori, and have hurt feelings for what your ancestors suffered.
have a look at Maori Culture
What did they claim to have had that the white man took from them?
normally an occupying force kills most of the locals, and they die off or are assimilated,
the English tried something different this time.
The original Maori [who killed each other at every opertunity] may have a complaint,
there are no full-blooded Maori left, the ones that are claiming all the money they can from the Government/taxpayers are 1/2 or less [mainly much less],
They claim the land that some historians say was occupied by the Mori Ori who were here before they arrived.
Bugger! I can imagine what you guys face. Thanks.
Ours is the Biafrian - Nigerian wahala
The Biafran People are trying to free themselves from Nigeria and be a country of their own.
They claim Nigeria exploit their resources(crude oil) and do not use the funds for local development but divert it to developing areas they occupy (Nothern Nigeria especially).
A look at these areas validates the claim.
It's just like Egyptians and the Isrealites story but in this case the Biafrans are not fighting to leave the land but for it to be shared.
Last year this issue almost led to another Biafran war as they were many demonstrations and crises
