The Takaichi administration is emphasizing domestic energy production, and in nuclear policy aims to 1) accelerate nuclear plant reactivation and 2) develop and equip a new generation of state-of-the-art reactors. The LDP secured an overwhelming victory in the general election in February 2026, and under a stable political administration we think the Takaichi government could provide the impetus for a nuclear renaissance in Japan
