This is pretty different than the way a lot of people think about the nature of God.  Many think God is stooped over His throne watching us like a hawk for an opportunity to strike us with lightning at the slightest mistake.  Don't compare the heavenly Father with any other earthly authority from your past whether it be your parents or anyone else. He sacrificed His only Son for YOU and because of this He is ready to hear you when you cry out to Him.
