Why there are NSFW posts.
Steemit, a social news service which runs a blogging and social networking website on top of a blockchain database, known as Steem. Users are rewarded for posting, discovering, and commenting on interesting content.
Looking around steemit, i'm sure that you have came before the term "NSFW" which stands for not safe for work. And exactly as the name implies! it's content not safe for work! Uh huh, you should know what content distracts you from work...Imagine this scenario, your at work and you work with an computer, and being the procrastinating steemian you are, you stumbled upon an NSFW post and don't know what it means, being the bored person you are looking for excitement somewhere to satisfy your curiousity of what the post is. Unfortunately, you are new to steemit so the settings of your Private Post Display Settings
Not safe for work (NSFW) content is set to always warn. Clicking on the post you go...
Your mouth goes agape...flies enter and you choke. Then you get distracted and browse some more and more. Then your boss comes up to you and say "What are you looking at, that is distracting you?" Your boss sees the "NSFW" content you are looking at and goes...
Then you get fired...
Ah, poor child...
Now you understand what seperates NSFW and normal content.
Now, to change this and avoid being fired by your boss. You want to do the following:
Click on your profile image.
Then click settings.
Sroll down.
You will see
Private Post Display Settings
Not safe for work (NSFW) content
You have three options.
Always hide, warn and show.
Which do you choose?
To be honest 2/3 of the options will increase the chances of you being fired. Why?
Both warn and show will incite your curiosity. So what if its set on always warn? You will click it anyway won't you. So thats why to reduce the chances of you being fired by your boss click always hide. All the NSFW content will just magically disappear from thin air.
Now you know! And fortunately you read this post covering NSFW content, so you won't be fired.
