I Need Advice, Urgently.

So I am travelling to Jos from Abuja in a Toyota saloon car with three soldiers and one other bloody civilian asides me and "something just happened" (In Lasisi's voice).

This civilian calls to drop at Vom, as soon as he drops and walks a bit I check myself and I cannot find my new phone. My Samsung S8. What?

I quickly stop the driver, alert the soldiers and we ran quickly to apprehend the foolish thief.
The soldiers sights him, grabs him by his belt and kick him to the ground and starts beating him up while yelling 

"provide the phone wey you carry now"

Me I am here enjoying the drama, my phone must come out. The bloody civilian keeps screaming "I no carry any phone" he's crying and screaming and it sounds like he is telling the truth .

I was confused, I decided to search myself again, touched my two front pockets, no phone.
Touched my left back pocket - no phone.

Touched my right back pocket - And Lo and Behold - The Samsung S8 that me and these soldiers are killing this guy for.

I need advice. We are still beating the guy. What should I do? Do I show them the phone? Or pretend I didn't see it??
