Practical Ways to Overcome Depression
What's interesting about depression, is that in some situations in can be a result of a person's approach to life. Psychologist Jordan Peterson offers some practical solutions that anyone can try if they find themselves dealing with depression:
- Get a Job
- Have friends and even close relationships if possible
- Figure out a step towards a concrete goal
There was an interesting study done that had two groups of undergraduate students take two different types of multiple choice tests. One test had a bunch of words associated with being old, and the other test had a bunch of words associated with being young. What's interesting is they were able to measure that the group taking the test with the "old" words actually walked slower to the elevator to leave compared to the other group.
This type of test has been duplicated many times. Jordan highlights that our environment and our interaction with it does affect us (for better or worse).

There is no easy way out of depression, but this sounds as good as any. It also does give you a base to work from. Great Advise
