I didn't realize episodes 3-10 were on Youtube Red. I watched all ten episodes in one day I loved it so much! I thought the 1980s soundtrack helped that great nostalgic feeling you're talking about.

    yes it did. I also liked the callbacks to the movies and I think the writing and story were top notch.
