SLC28-W2 // "Jali Kebab"
Hello everyone. Today I am joining this challenge to prepare Jali kebab. I hope you like my presentation from the class.
Have you ever made Jali Kebab for a festive occasion at your home? Write your experience in at least 150 words.
No, I have not preapred Jali kebab for a festive season before now. I have not even prepared Jali kebab before now. Infact this is my first time of even hearing that there is anything called kebab.
Funny right? Well, that is my experience. I just know that beef is used to cook food like we do in the house and sometimes over here in my country they prepare it as barbecue that they call soya but outside of that, this whole idea of kebab is totally strange to me so when I saw the challenge, I had to read it very well and study it so as to understand what it meant and how it’s been done and that was how I was able to prepare it this time.
My aunty helped me to buy the ingredients cos I didn’t have money. so she said she will small small for me to use and so was grateful that she helped me. She didn’t buy the ingredients in large quantities so it’s like half of what the teacher used. I have to use it like that but so enjoyed the process of learning and making Jali kebab for the first time.
Prepare the Jali Kebab recipe step by step and describe the detailed procedure with pictures. Must use your own pictures.
To prepare the Jali kebab, these were the ingredients I used
| Ingredients | Quantity I used |
|---|---|
| Beef | 200 gram |
| Bread slices | 1 |
| Egg | 1 |
| Garlic paste | 1/2 teaspoon |
| Chilli powder | 1/2 teaspoon |
| Chopped onions | 1/4 cup |
| Roasted cumin powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
| Ginger paste | 1/2 teaspoon |
| Black pepper powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
| Chopped coriander leaves | 1 tbs spoon |
| Hot spice powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
| Tomato ketchup | 1 teaspoon |
| Chopped green chilli | 2 pieces |
| Breadcrumbs | 1/2 cup |
| Oil | to fry |
| Salt | for taste |
Procedure
I started the preparation by first washing the beef in clean water. Then I allowed the water to drain off. I then have to mince the beef by using a blender to blend it thank God there was power available at that time. after blending the beef, I put it into a small bowl plate.
I then soak one of the bread slices in water and squeezed it off. I mixed them together until all of them were mixed.

I then started adding the other ingredients, the chili powder, the cummin powder, black pepper, hot spice powder, garlic, ginger, diced onions, tomato ketchup, the chopped coriander leaves and mixed all do them together.
Then I began to mold the mixture into small circles until all was molded. I then used the bread crumbs to coat them all around. I also broke the egg and used it to coat the kebabs balls before I started frying them in oil. I fried all until they were brown and I brought it down.

My kebab presentation
Did you face any problems while making the Jali Kebab recipe?
No, I did not encounter any challenges or problem while making the Jali kebab. I used blender to mince the meat. That would have been a little difficult of not for the blender. Even though it was my first time, It was easy for me as I learnt from the steps that the teacher presented in the class.
I enjoyed making the kebab and it was tasty too.
