Is losing weight your goal for 2018? Try Keto

in #keto7 years ago

2017 was a big year for me... and by big, I mean small. I got a lot smaller. In Fall 2017, I had surgery during which I had a minor heart attack. I have a lot of heart and stroke conditions in my family, and I was 50 lbs overweight. I recovered from surgery (slowly) and by February 2017, I was ready to make a big change in my life. I simply did not want to darken the door of a hospital any time soon. It was a moderately easy transition - especially compared to a juice fasting diet which I had tried several times, and always failed within 3 days. The key for me at the beginning was using MyFitnessPal to track my macros and keeping my fat intake higher. I kept my carbs at 15 grams and found a few foods that I liked - including an almond flour/egg/spinach/chia seed muffin that I invented to cover off nutrients, calories and fat. Over the next few months I lost 30 lbs and started walking. I walked over 600 km over the summer and got my health and my life back. I will write more if this interests anyone.
