Resident Hailed for Rescuing Child from Well in Gwara Community

A man identified as Bosco has been commended for rescuing a young boy who accidentally fell into a well in Gwara Community, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident caused panic among residents before Bosco volunteered to intervene. Witnesses said he reportedly jumped into the well and spent about 45 minutes carrying out the rescue operation before successfully bringing the child out alive.

Community members have since praised Bosco for his courage and selflessness, describing his actions as heroic and timely. The rescued child is said to be safe following the incident, although details about his condition were not immediately confirmed.

Residents have also called for improved safety measures around wells and other open water sources in the area.
