Kitchen fires
There have been a few times when I've been frying something and the frying pan has caught fire with a whoosh that makes me jump back out of the way, and so far I've been lucky enough to be able to put it out...
Statistics show that the kitchen has more fires than any other room in the house and most of them are caused by chip pan fires, so it is always a good idea to keep a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher in a place that is easy to get to, then if the oil on the cooker catches fire you can throw the blanket over it to smother the flame then leave to cool down.
If the fire is too big and has got out of control then call for a fire engine and close the kitchen door to contain the fire until the emergency service gets there to tackle the blaze.
Kitchen fires can happen really fast and be very dangerous and in worst case scenarios can burn the house down and your neighbours as well so always know what to do if there is a fire in the kitchen.
When a fire suddenly erupts on the stove never throw water on it and do not panic.
If you haven’t got a fire blanket then wet a towel and use that to smother the flame, and turn off the heat and leave if you can.
It can be a frightening experience but you need to keep calm and carry out your fire drill to make everything safe, and don’t fill the chip pan so full again.

Question is whats the use of having a chip pan if its not filled with oil to do that deep fry
Well, all I can say is, Careful with that axe, Eugene (Pink Floyd) while in the kitchen...
It should be very dangerous
It can be sometimes if you're not conscious
