Great idea—crocheted squares joined together. I’ve never done it that way before; I have to give it a try. Hey, the story behind the Cabos Sueltos project really touched my heart. My paternal aunts knit, and ever since I was a little girl, they’ve given me pieces that I still have. Crocheted pieces are one-of-a-kind. I look forward to seeing the finished project. You're very lucky to still have some of that handiwork. Many people feel they have to get rid of everything too quickly (without processing their grief) and don't realise the work and love gone into pieces made by hand.
After finishing the post I found the missing red squares - I'll have to find a way of adding to the pattern now.
