Sundown on Summer Adventures
I've been extremely fortunate this summer. I was able to cruise around the Gulf Islands, as well as up the west coast of Vancouver Island for two full months. It was a wonderful adventure and to be honest I'm finding the adjustment of back to work and adulting just a wee bit trying at times. There is some comfort in a steady paycheck that will allow me to save up the ol dinero for the next adventure!
I took this photo of my companion Rodney on our last night of anchoring. We were at a small island in the southern gulf islands called Tumbo Island. The air was crisp and cool - feeling very much like fall with just a few sun rays peeking through in the distance.
The upside of our sailing sojourn coming to an end is that I will be able to share our adventures with Steemit! Stay tuned for more stories in the upcoming weeks.
All content is my own unless otherwise stated. Thanks for the support Steemians!
hey @hayles! long time no see, welcome back!
Ah yes, the cold is going to start creeping up to where you are soon, and no sailing till march-april right? what will you be doing in the meantime? what kind of work do you do?
Hey! I will still sail during the winter months - but I will be confined to weekends due to shorter daylight hours. During the week I work in government administration. Winter is a time for surfing, sailing, reading and imbibing in rum & scotch!
that sounds like very good plan! though i don't know about surfing in the winter, i never tried!
I really miss sailing myself, its be a while, the crew is busy with their own lives and i dont have a boat of my own unfortunately... so i'm afraid i'll be land-locked for a while, till the next regatta season, or till i find a new crew.... (or a boat :D)
Wow I never knew there was a sailing community on steem. I will have to follow .
Wow epic. Are there many sailors on steemit ?
