Haemuljeon 해물전

I'm going to introduce you to haemuljeon, a Korean pancake made with several types of seafood, which is a family favorite. Living in a harbor city on South Korea's southern coast is great since there is an abundance of seafood on every dinner table. We can purchase all the fresh ingredients required for the day every morning because the traditional open-air market is conveniently located.

Some come to purchase fresh food, and others come to sell their catch. After that, more vendors may set up shop and sell items like rice cakes, noodle soup, and porridge. One of my favorite foods was hemuljeon. My husband would bring fresh seafood home, chop it up, and mix it with green onion or buchu (chives) in a flour based batter and cook it on a hot skillet.
