This is the Wikipedia Entry for Krampus.

In Central European folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure described as "half-goat, half-demon",[1] who, during the Christmas season, punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts. Krampus is one of the companions of Saint Nicholas in several regions including Austria, Bavaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Northern Italy including South Tyrol and the Province of Trento, Slovakia, and Slovenia.[2] The origin of the figure is unclear; some folklorists and anthropologists have postulated it as having pre-Christian origins.

In traditional parades and in such events as the Krampuslauf (English: Krampus run), young men dressed as Krampus participate; such events occur annually in most Alpine towns.[3] Krampus is featured on holiday greeting cards called Krampuskarten.

Whoa, I'm sure those costumes show up in a plethora of nightmares! That would be a better motivator to behave than the fear of getting a lump of coal from Santa. Lol.

You should have seen the groups running around town scaring the crap out of everyone. It made Halloween look tame.

I bet! That would make it hard to relax. Hope you and the family have a wonderful Christmas. The market has been providing us with plenty of green candles lately, let's hope that continues.

Merry Christmas 🎅🎄🎁

Yeah, why did I post this on Facebook instead of Steemit??? :D

Yup, FB doesn't give us crap.

Krampus da miedo, ¿no has visto la película?
