Putting an end to all speculations, discussions and discussions, the much awaited 7th phase of the UP elections of Companyganj Upazila of Noakhali was completed on Monday (February 7) without a few isolated incidents.

In 8 unions of the upazila, the voting was completed in almost all the centers with the participation of the voters, but some isolated incidents were complained by the candidates and voters. Several candidates and voters are blaming the isolated incident on the unilateral attack and collaboration of the DB Police targeting one or the other center in each union. The chairman, member candidates and voters complained of irregularities in polling station No. 7 of Sirajpur Union, polling station No. 1 and 7 of Charparvati Union, polling station No. 2, 3, 4 and 7 of Charkankra Union, polling station No. 5 of Rampur Union, Charafkira and Charelahi Union. In these centers, they have raised allegations of various irregularities, including threatening the supporters of the opposing candidate not to come to the polling station, DB police taking bribes and unilaterally attacking and driving them away from the polling station after seeing the badges held on their chests.

In this direction, the upazila returning officers announced the result unofficially from 9 pm. In No. 1 Sirajpur Union, Nazim Uddin Mikon was elected by getting 6 thousand 52 votes with autorickshaw symbol. His closest candidate Mohammad Abul Hashem Chashma Pratika got 5 thousand 448 votes. In Charparvati Union No. 2, Mohammad Hanif was elected by getting 5 thousand 420 votes on the motorcycle symbol. His nearest rival Mozammel Hossain got 4 thousand 216 votes per telephone. Mohi Uddin was elected in Charhazari Union No. 3 by getting 6 thousand 443 votes with pineapple symbol. His closest rival, Muhammad Shah Jahan with the Chashma symbol, got 4,400 votes. Md.
