The accused Shamim was first arrested in connection with the case related to Section-457/380 Penal Code 1860 of Hatia Police Station Case No-03 Tang-09/02/2024 from Gulyakhali area of Burirachar UP.
Later, after interrogating the accused, according to his confession, the other accused in the same case, Md. Babar and Md. Shahab Uddin, were arrested. Meanwhile, a CNG used in their theft was recovered and seized. According to the accused, 05 stolen mobile phones were recovered from his residence.
In another case, according to Shamim's confession and identification, goldsmith Pranab Banik was arrested and gold weighing 02 bhari 02 anna 02 rati 3 points was seized from his shop. The current market price of which is Tk 2 lakh 11 thousand 417.

OC Jisan Ahmed said, with the help of information technology, we have been able to arrest 4 people including Shamim, the head of the thief gang. Along with this, the stolen gold ornaments and mobiles have been recovered. He also said that this gang of thieves sells the stolen goods in various places including Manpura and Bhola. Regular cases will be filed against the arrested and handed over to the court.
