May Day marks spring and labor. It is dedicated to the working people who give their strength for the benefit of the Motherland. In the world, the holiday is called the International Workers' Solidarity Day. Traditionally, noisy demonstrations took place in the streets in defense of representatives of the working class, who defended their rights to fair and comfortable working conditions.

In the last century, gatherings and gatherings for "May Day", similar to picnics in nature, were very popular. There, workers discussed cases and plans, held meetings, and then made reasonable demands to the owners of factories and plants. The holiday was established by the Congress of the Second International of Paris in July 1889 in memory of the workers' strike in Chicago.

This is the day of awakening to light, goodness and knowledge, the unity of the fraternal union of working people to fight darkness and oppression for a better life in society. Festive processions are of particular interest. A sports parade was held in honor of May Day, the first director of which was choreographer I. Moiseev. Later, air parades of Soviet aircraft and a military parade in Moscow were held. All this had a special solemn sound. At all times, the First of May was celebrated brightly and positively. In Soviet society, work was highly valued, and such a holiday was a huge event for all families.

In the morning, adults and children gathered for a demonstration, bought colorful ribbons, balloons, flags and other festive attributes, marched in an even line through city streets and squares, carried banners and slogans, sang songs and exclaimed: "hurrah!". A wonderful tradition has remained alive in the heart of the working people.
