Finding Pleasure in the mundane || Diary Game 10th March 2026
Are there days you feel the adrenaline rushing through your veins??, either because of something wonderful that happened or you’re excited about something or a new idea? Etc. A lot of us have been there, but you’ll also agree with me that not all days have adrenaline, or excitement. Some days are just there while other days are lazy and you wile away time counting the hand of the clock till the day is spent.
What do you do on such days when things are just “ordinary”? Do you throw them away or just leave them to waste??
By instruction, I’ve learnt that our life is calibrated in days- not months or years. This means that even those seemingly boring days are an integral part of our human clock, hence the need to make the most of it.
Do you remember the widow I went to visit in my last post?? She has a poultry farm and my mum was heading to her farm to pick some birds for sale, somehow I found myself tagging along.
While we waited for the woman to see us, I met a most stunning view.

Do you know what these are?? Your guess is as good as mine- Water ducks. Typical place you’d fine these are at stream and lakes, that’s why I popped out my phone to take some shots because what are they doing here?, walking around as though it’s their natural habitat?
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a chimpanzee jump out from behind the bushes as this woman’s home looks like a mini forest.
The female is the one with the white beak and red spots while the male is the one with the black beak. Running around like loved up fellows are their children.
Finally she came out and we proceeded to sorting the birds of which we took a selfie afterwards.
Later in the evening, I was sent to get some drugs for our birds as they were sick and some had dropped. I headed to this big wholesale store for everything animals. I even discovered they deal on dog medicine.
Getting there, the place was much calmer than it usually is by this time of day. I had come expecting a tussle as most farmers come to get supplies by this time. Silently thanking my God, I made my order, paid and waited my turn.

On other days, I just buy drugs and go, but today I needed feed. As they directed me outside, I became a bit confused as I only knew the inside store, never did I guess the activity outside was a part of their business.

They had a section filled with bags of feeds and another section of day old birds. Talk about being all encompassing.
Never have I been so proud of a stranger’s business before. I quickly took my purchases and headed home.
On arrival, I remembered I had promised my little one that I would help her clear the place for her school farm project. Once the feeds were offloaded, we began work.
Here are nice jpegs of myself, my little one and nephew working together to create a little farm space.

You’d think that’s enough work for one day right??, but no. I have an online meeting for 9pm and I have to get ready for it. See you tomorrow!
