Three years ago we went on an unforgettable trip to Easter Island (Rapa Nui in local language) - one of the most remote places on earth. You can only get here from Tahiti or from Santiago de Chile and it takes more than 5 hours flight time in both directions. But it's well worth the effort.

The picture shows Ahu Tongariki. An Ahu is a stone platform on which Moai (the mysterious stone figures) are being erected. Ahu Tongariki is the largest of its kind, featuring 15 Moai.
