Landscapephotography - Pink Beach in Mexico
I would like to share this wonderful photo with you, which I took in Las Coloradas, Mexico. This place is very unique because of it's pink water. I've never seen something like this before.
Las Coloradas is a small village on the North Coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is well known for it's salt domes and salt ponds, as one of Mexico's biggest salt factories is based here. The "pink beach" is basically a bunch of man-made salt ponds, where the water is pink because of the huge amount of red alga living in the ponds. It's water is extremely salty, so it's not really suitable for swimming. It is worth to visit only for the view.
On the left side of the picture you can see a natural lagoon; on the right side, you can see the salt pond. I like the contrast of the two colors divided only by a narrow sandy road.
This is an interesting picture! I can see the reflection of the clouds!
wow...how beautiful pink beach!! There is lot of amazing things that one cant imagine is in the world. Thank for sharing.
You are very welcome :) Exactly, that's why I'm sharing so many pictures of my travels, because Earth is huge and we don't know so many things yet, but we can always learn from others
