Bengali language is an Indo-Aryan language, which is the main spoken and written language of the Bengali nation of South Asia. The second language of the Bangla Indo-Aryan language family in the language of the mother tongue is the fourth and the second largest language of the Indo-European language family. Bangla sovereign nation is the national language of Bangladesh and the only national language and the official language of Barak Valley in West Bengal, Tripura, Assam. Bengali is the main spoken language of the Andaman islands located in the Bay of Bengal. Besides, there are a large number of Bengali speaking people in the states of Jharkhand, Bihar, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Orissa. Bengali is the most commonly spoken language in Hindi after Hindi. Over 26 million people all over the world use Bangla in their daily lives. National music of Bangladesh and Indian national anthem and hymn in India are written in Bengali.
The history of Bangla language development is more than 1200 years old. The original patterns of the language of Charupad By the end of the eighteenth century, Bangla language acquired its current form through the vast store of literature written in Bengal from the eighth century onwards. Bangla script is a Bengali script. In Bengali and West Bengal, there is a slight difference between the vocabulary and pronunciation in the Bangla language. Bengali language and literature played the most important role in the book, in relation to the Renaissance of Bengal and the cultural diversity of Bengal, and played the most important role in the formation of Bengali nationalism and Bangladesh.
In 1951-52, the Bengali Language Movement organized in East Bengal established a link to Bengali existence with this language. On February 21, 1952, students and protesters protested at the University of Dhaka sacrificed their lives in the demand of state language for the mother tongue of the majority. In recognition of their struggle, UNESCO declared the day 21st February as International Mother Language Day.
