English Language

The English language is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. It began in England many centuries ago and has now become a global language used for communication in education, business, science, and technology. English belongs to the Germanic family of languages, but over time it has borrowed many words from Latin, French, Greek, and other languages.

Today, English is spoken by more than 1.5 billion people, either as a first or second language. It is the official language in many countries and an important international language for travel, trade, internet content, and diplomacy.

The English language is made up of 26 letters, and it uses a subject–verb–object (SVO) sentence structure. Its vocabulary is very rich, and many words have multiple meanings. English grammar can be easy to learn at the basic level, but advanced rules—like tenses, phrasal verbs, and idioms—can be challenging.

English continues to evolve with time. New words are added every year due to changes in culture, technology, and society.
