Bible and divine science: She will feed him with the bread of learning, and give him the water of understanding to drink. Ben Sira 15:3

It could be safely said that the teachings of Jesus are not entirely original but are a continuation of the sapiential literature of the Old Testament.
Jesus is presented in the Gospels as the "Son of Man," that is, as the personification of God's perfections, and in one particular instance he is presented as the personification of God's wisdom when he taught: "I am the door" John 10:9. And an antecedent of this can be seen when in the Book of Proverbs, when through a metaphorical device, wisdom is personified and speaks to men at the beginning of the book.
And the Book of Ben Sira is no stranger to this topic, because the wise author of the Book, when writing about wisdom, left a teaching very related to the gospels with these words: "She will feed him with the bread of learning, and give him the water of understanding to drink" Ben Sira 15:3. Ben Sira wrote about bread and water in a metaphorical sense, and Jesus also taught about the same topic in the Gospel of John: "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty" John 6:35.
Jesus in the gospels personifies the wisdom that takes away the hunger and thirst for God, an idea that evidently has its origin in an older wisdom, although somewhat changed.
And these spiritual teachings have a very profound spiritual meaning in the Bible, because there is nothing beyond wisdom; so much so, that the Gospel of John affirms: "The Word was with God, and the Word was God" John 1:1. The word in the gospels is one of the terms used to designate the divine science. Through their teachings, Ben Sira and Jesus explained that wisdom is not something innocuous, like air, but something that nourishes the soul of man and transforms the thinking of those who seek "her" with devotion. Wisdom is essentially a "fermentative teaching," that is, a science with gradual, progressive, and incremental effects. Wisdom is therefore the very science of God, a science that blesses man and makes him know all the mysteries of creation with the mind, and in the Christian faith, those who receive wisdom in its fullness in their hearts receive the same holy spirit.
