Dude, you said 100 years ago, I would say at least 50 years ago. I have a friend from #elsalvador who got emancipated from his family at the age of 6. He was working the fields at that age and he was getting paid as much as an adult. Since his father was getting his share, he spoke to his Dad so he can keep his fare share. The Dad said no, he left home at that age and kept on working in the fields on his own. Just saying, it was horrible.
