Intrinsic Value
Machines are taking over the job market, or so this is what the media is trying to make us believe. Without a doubt, somewhere in the near future machines will get a more prominent position on the job market. But until then I think humans are still needed. Algorithms can now apparently spot heart arrhythmia, it's supposed to revolutionize medicine, we just have to wait and see.
Now let's go into the definition of intrinsic value, the business dictionary defines it generally as underlying essential inherent value. In ecological terms it seems to be the value of the environment and life forms that have their own right and which is not derived from the human use they can or cannot be put to. But I have my own definition, you get born, you live your life as an independent, and you move on where ever in the universe. All particles on the plant can do that, so why can't we?
