Chivalry Is Dead And Women Killed It

in #life7 years ago

Once upon a time holding doors for a woman was virtually expected of men; how times have changed.

These days holding the door for a woman can get you accused of sexism as feminism has told women that they can hold their own doors in the face of even common courtesy.

In this modern era, almost any kind gesture to the opposite sex can be considered a form of sexism or even harrassment. Everything from a man opening the car door for a woman, to a man paying for dinner on the first date.

Ultimately many modern men are now choosing not to pay the entire bill for dinner on first dates anymore, no longer hold or open doors for women, and letting women go first in cases of emergency rescue is increasingly becoming a thing of the past.

Do you think the death of chivalry is a good thing or a bad thing? Let me know what you think in the comments. Also check out the video below for more insight into the death of chivalry.

Priority of women and children in case of emergency should still be kept. It's not chivalry, it's survival instinct. What's your opinions?

Did you know that more women than children were saved in the lifeboats when the titanic sank? Ultimately it comes down to survival of the fittest and men are beginning to become tired of being disposable for the sake of others surviving. Choosing to put ones own life first is not cowardly, it's self preservation, something that has been conditioned out of men for generations when women and children are in danger however, the tide is now changing. Do you truly believe that in cases where children are not present, women should still be given priority? Also why should a mother be given priority over a father?

Until a man can give birth and breast feed a baby, I'll give priority to women and children in catastrophes.

I understand your reasoning however, I would not self sacrifice for women or children. I think asking any man to do that is expecting too much

Seems you look at it from a supposed to be rational point of view. OK, put emotions aside, let's be rational: "Are you sure that it is beneficial for the survival of human kind to promote the increasing overpopulation of the planet?" :-)

I see it like this: every individual has an intrinsic value independently from his (or her) ability to produce descendants or not. According to your logic one had to save gays an old people last ... What would you answer?

I completely understand the overall message here, and see your points. However, I prefer to hold myself to a higher standard than that of society. So, I will hold the door open for ANYONE who is close by (male or female). I believe someone who doesn't thank you for that is a piece of $#!t.
I will always put my children above others, including their mother. And yes, I cannot stand the constant nagging from tv and movies about how bad we are.

Modern society is showing examples of men who are weak. I am not a nice guy, but a good man. I smoke cigars and drink good stuff. I am great to be around and almost always have a great time. I laugh loudly and stare at chicks' asses. Now, is that so wrong?
