Science student with a love for arts

in #life7 years ago

Slowly he moves
To and fro
To and fro
Then faster and faster.....

Those are the first four lines of a poem I loved so much in Secondary (high) school and it's titled "boy on a swing" with "Daffodils" being my second best.

I was (and I am still) a science student but my love for arts like photography, music but most especially literature is immeasurable. I read some books and my mind wonders, puts me right in the place being described. The chills from a horror novel, the joy from a happy ending. ... all that pushed me to replace Geaography with Literature. My favourite prose then was "Lord of the Flies" alot of people thought it to be boring but I couldn't just drop that book till I got to the last page. image

When I filled it in as one of the subjects I would sit for in Waec it became a big deal. My English Teacher told me I would make a better art student bit I refused to leave science and I do not regret it.... It hasn't in the least way affected my live for literature. I had to get used to being referred to as "the science student that did literature" years after leaving NCI.
