The American fan returned the medal to the Swedes. And explained why he put on three sweaters

After a dramatic defeat, Swedish captain Lias Andersson threw a silver medal on the podium - and a fan in the stands caught and put it on. And then it turned out that this fan, Bill Shaflukas, had already three sweaters on the body: the AHL team "Rochester American", the US team and the Swedish team. Bill took off two and stayed in Swedish to support the guys.

The Bardown journalists contacted Bill and asked what he had done with this medal.

I made a couple of photos and returned the medal to the Swedes. I thought that after a while this guy might need a medal. I played hockey at the university level, and we somehow lost to the University of Pennsylvania. I then threw the stick out of my anger at the stands and did not get it back. So I understand his emotions, his disappointment, and I thought that the next day he might want to return it.

Bill at the same time explained why he wore three sweaters for the game:

Ahead of me were my Canadian friends, and I was going to change sweaters to confuse them, it was just a joke.

Bill is not the first to do good things in hockey. Last summer, he was among 40 people who staged an 11-day continuous marathon for hockey, beat a world record and collected $ 1.2 million for a cancer research institute.
