RE: Ten lessons I learned working for 10+ years

in #life6 years ago

So my burning question after 10 years is, "Does your 'new' place still make your heart sing?" Or is it time to move on for the next few years to try something else? My first, burning thoughts. :)

I especially liked "Be Yourself" which can be sooooo hard in another place where the language is different, the customs may not 'approve' of the way you dress or act etc It can be a tough call to be yourself in some places.

Mostly I loved "Saying Yes!" Cos that opens doors, creates possibility and starts the magic.

Nice reflections. So, DOES this place still make your heart sing after 10 years? And if not, why are you still there?

Enjoyed your post - best wishes from Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand.

Thank you artemislives! Yes, my heart sings after 10 years but I think its for evolving reasons. At first, I wanted to just move to the new city to gain some experience and then move back to where my family was but now that it's been 10 years, I am thinking that it will be another 10 years (or more) before I move back - again, the reasons have changed - thinking about marriage, family, where my kids will be growing up and more which I didn't think about when I first moved here.
