3AC to 3AC Economy Conversion

There has been a recent incident where one of my friends had booked a 3AC Ticket on a Train and even though he had booked his ticket months in advance at the last possible moment he got a notification stating that due to some issues, his seat has been bumped to 3AE which is the Economy version of AC Sleeper coaches and I have to say that they are not comfortable at all. They also said that any amount that has been charged in excess would be refunded which sounds good but not so good when you hear that the difference is only about 150 INR.

For starters, there is a difference in berths where in 3AC coaches you get 72 seats in the 3AC Economy coach you will get 83 Seats and in that same sized coach so it is natural that they had definitely cut on the spacing of the berths which means if you are a person above the height of 5feet 7 inches then chances are that you are going to have quite the issue with the spacing in between berths. I have tried the 3AC Economy seats and being a 5feet 11-inch dude I can say for sure that none of the seats are comfortable for me at all.

The fact remains that it is definitely not fair to be downgraded randomly just to accommodate passengers who have booked a particular ticket and got something else entirely I call it bad faith and I really did not expect this from Indian Railways. It is also heard that the Indian Railways are trying to completely omit the Sleeper Class berths so yeah this might be a strategy to do so in the Future.
