Focus: An essential ingredient in this age.

In this modern day of technology one can easily get lost in the myriad of information being thrown at you. Of course it has never been this good in terms of access to information.

Nevertheless our ability to sort information in the order of their importance and able to focus on the essential ones is a skill which can never be underestimated in this era of information revolution.And that brings us to what focus is.

Focus is the centre of interest or activity-Google.

Why do we need a centre of interest?

Now lets start with the array of apps on our phones especially the social media app like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Whatsapp, We chat, Nimbuzz...

You are constantly receiving information from all of these on your device coupled with emails from work, mails in your Yahoo or Google account which you have to respond to. Bills data and cable TV that you need to pay up. All of these will definitely impact on your social life with people around you.

Your spouse, neighbour, colleague, family, inlaws and your immediate community and the World at large still need your attention. This era has seen the decline in deeper connections between humans and this will definitely have an adverse effect on our marriages and relationship with our family and society at large.

Lack of focus will increase anxiety, stress, poor error of judgement, increase in failed relationships and decrease in general wellness of individuals constituting the community.

How do we increase our focus?

Simply try and engage in a singular activity at a particular point in time. Multitasking is essential in the workplace but if you want a task done to near perfection give it maximum concentration.

Besides you get this aura of calmness when you focus on a particular activity, you experience a certain level of confidence. When you have focus in a relationship you'll have a deeper understanding of your spouse or partner and you will be able to connect on a deeper level.

Another way to increase focus is by planning your day. You need a list of all the activities you need to accomplish in a day. You tick as you complete each activity.Of course goals and visions are essential so you can have an idea of where you will like to be in five years.

Personally I feel its very important to remain grounded and be aware of our immediate environment.I joined Steemit in late June and I fell in love almost instantly and being the type that likes to focus it meant some apps will have to give way on my device.

The major reason why I love Steemit apart from the fact that I earn while blogging is the emphasis on communal relationship. I have met great personalties and have learnt a great deal from these individuals. Of course its addictive and that meant Snapchat, We chat and Instagram had to give way,Facebook is on life support machine as it is being neglected.

My humble opinion is you cannot be on all social media.Chooose the ones you feel are important and ditch the rest.Again my humble opinion.

The importance of focus can never be underestimated as it has a postive effect on your creative ability and innovations. Creative minds always look for solitude in order to tap into the abundance of knowledge in the cosmos. So what are you waiting for?
