A Path Toward Inner Peace #1: The Beginning
We live in a wonderful but chaotic world, so day to day activities can lead to stress and anxiety. I'm on a journey to find inner peace and hopefully to discover what I can do to achieve a more purposeful existence. This is my journey to expand my knowledge and awareness of old and new ways in order to achieve internal tranquility. It may be a slow journey but a forward one. I look forward to growing in this process of peace and happiness. Join me in this journey of finding Inner Peace!
According to the Taoist the path to inner peace is self-acceptance. There are many paths for finding inner peace but the main challenge is finding a way that works and a technique that fits your general nature.
In Zen a person is taught to keep asking oneself questions and then more questions until the mind overloads and then just lets go. The goal is to empty your mind of questions. In Taoism one learns that everything is relative where most answers are not worth chasing. When you reach this point you then are able to reach acceptance.
Other ways to reach inner peace is by learning to quiet your mind. If you notice, most problems begin in the mind. Things like external events (noise, electronics, unfortunate events, etc.), self-doubts, underlying beliefs, judgement, resistance, etc., can distract the individual from reaching the path toward inner peace.
It must be remembered that inner peace is not achieved through self-improvement but comes from self-acceptance.
The journey begins. . . . . . .
Inner peace comes from abundance and good friends. Also having a peaceful job would do wonderfully for your world..
And don't forget.. Never stress and never strive to impress.
Cheers and much love.

Goldie, thank-you so much for your wonderful words. I totally agree that stress can make one ill, so we need to avoid it at all costs. Abundance and good friends are great beginnings to inner peace. Fortunately I'm retired now so at least I don't have to have work stress. I am blessed by people like you who extend positive energy to others. I will certainly pass it on. Again, much appreciation and love to you! Thank-you!!
Thank you for the kind words.. I see you travel a lot 😊. You are blessed with the ability of freedom, therefore you can always find peace and harmony, just packing your bags and hitting the roads.
Cheers
@vangelov going to Japan was my first trip in 40 years. I'm not that adventurous but I'm glad that I went. It was a fabulous experience, one that I will never forget. My deepest wish is that one day you will have the freedom to travel to experience a whole world waiting for you! It should be your one wish to bring your beautiful being to others who can benefit from your presence. In your own special way, you brought me joy, peacefulness and gratitude. Consider yourself very special and unique with a good heart. Sending you inner peace!

Very nice written!
I think that in our daily life nowadays it's harder to find inner peace then ever. We have social media coming up in our faces, commercials and an interaction with people that have become more distant than what it used to be.
But I think with a great dose of gratitude for the smallest things, compassion for ourselves and others and kindness will get us a long way. And I think the most important part is not to compare us with other but with our old self. I believe that this can be a major ruiner for inner peace for a lot of us, that we keep comparing ourselves to everyone around us..
With that said best luck on you way of finding inner peace :)
Authenticbyheart, thank you for your wise words. You are right in that social media, commercials, people interactions, etc., do interfere with our sense of peace and and tranquility. That is why I thought that I would take a slow journey on learning as much as I can about developing inner peace. You seem like a very grounded person who has already learned a lot about life. It makes you real! That is a good thing! I will put you on my follow list and want to wish you a very successful journey in Steemit! Good luck!!!
I've never had a desire for inner peace for myself, but I wish the best for you in your journey. I'll look forward to your future posts :)
Thank-you for your well wishes! Even though you never desired inner peace before, I will wish you some. Appreciate your support and following!
The teaching of Zen is interesting. It is famous that Steve Jobs also performed Zen.
I truly feel that all the good, caring people have a very special inner strength and kindness in them. Thank-you @kinakomochi for your support. It is appreciated!
Thank you too.
Even in homepathic medicine do they use the Zen and Yang to balance the needs in your body. It helped healing my body after struggling for two years on all sorts of medicine from different specialists and finally as a sceptic turned to a homeopath. Wish I did it earlier.
Crazymumzysa, your path has been so challenging but the beauty of it is that you were able to find a better path to wellness. I've been there with my own challenging illnesses because of stress and hurts and I too woke up and found a happier and healthier life. I am more at peace and have since then become more grounded and peaceful. You are a really good person and deserve much more than what you have known!
Change of each person's mind.I think that it will lead to peace.I think you are right.Thank you for a good post:)
Thank-you very much Yoshiko! I will try my best to study this area in seeking how to find inner peace. In a way, your art is one way to fine tranquility because I know that when you create, you must feel joy and a way of expressing your inner self! That is why we are very alike in our inner self. Have a great week!
Thank you for sharing this! It's very well written. I often find myself overloaded with thoughts and worries about things that haven't even happened 😔. For me, inner peace comes from making an effort to live in the present. Enjoying the weather, watching a good movie, having coffee and catching up with friends...that's when I feel the most peaceful. Tomorrow will happen regardless of what I do today. People often quote the phrase "Rome wasn't built in a day." It sounds cliche, but I still believe its the perfect mindset to have. We can't accomplish our dreams overnight. And once you stop trying to do everything right away, that's when you can find peace ~ in my opinion 😊😊
But the idea of peace is different for everyone...so who really knows what peace is.
I'll be looking forward to more articles from you in the future 👍
You are such a deep and grounded person! Your insight about inner peace is beautiful in that you believe making an effort to live in the present is what we should be doing. I love your concept and believe you are right! Have you ever heard of Eckhart Tolle and his book "The Power of Now". He also believes that we need to live in the Now. I encourage you to continue the path you are taking, because you really are on the right path! And by the way, I too am often overloaded with so much on my mind and tend to worry a lot. That is why in am trying to broaden my insight on ways to find inner peace. I tend to be very contemplative so my journey will take time. So please patiently wait for my next article....I am slow and hopefully steady. I just want to thank-you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and insightful comment. It is very much appreciated! Please continue to share your art and grounded thoughts. I love them! :)
😂😅 Did I sound grounded? Honestly I feel like I'm the least grounded person sometimes. I know what I SHOULD be doing...but actually doing those things can be difficult. I'm on the correct path I think...but sometimes I stray and have to find my way back ☺️. Yes, I've read that book and it's definitely a great one. If you're looking for a great article topic, maybe writing a review about that book would be helpful to a lot of people 👍. I know I would enjoy it. But take your time and don't feel like you have to be rushed to submit articles on here. 😊 I'll be more than happy to read them whenever you decide to post something new.
