A neglected medicinal wonder
The most familiar flower that we see is originally known as 'Dandakalsa' or 'Shwetdrona' in rural Bengal. This plant of the Lamiaceae family grows neglected and disrespected on the roadside, in crop fields or on the banks of rivers. The stem of the tree is straight and square and the leaves are somewhat long and rough. Its main attraction is the small white flowers that bloom from the nodes of the stem, which look like small buckwheat. These flowers not only enhance the beauty of nature, but also have extraordinary medicinal properties.
Its leaf juice, when heated lightly and consumed with honey, is very beneficial for colds, coughs and tonsil problems. Its leaf juice is quite effective for flatulence or digestive problems. Applying a paste of leaves provides quick relief for itching or skin allergies. We neglect many such plants around us, considering them weeds. The conservation and proper use of these natural resources is extremely important in modern civilization.

I've never heard of 'Dandakalsa' before, but its medicinal properties sound amazing, especially for digestive issues. I'm curious to know more about its effectiveness on skin conditions mentioned at the end. 🌼💚👍
